Unlike a general hobby shop, the venue is built around physical wargaming: full-size tables, terrain, leagues, ladders, RTTs, casual gaming nights and a community that helps players find games. When can I play?

Regular evening gaming runs on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 11pm. We also open for scheduled weekend events. Check the event listing for the hours of a particular tournament or activity.

Are you a shop, club or gaming venue?

Do I need to know someone before I visit?

Can I visit before booking a game?

Where can I play Warhammer 40,000 in Shropshire?

You can play 40K at MMG in Market Drayton on our regular gaming evenings or through scheduled leagues and tournaments. Can beginners and adults learn Warhammer here?

Yes. You do not need tournament experience to join the community or arrange a first game. Tell us what you have played before, if anything, and which game interests you. We can help you identify a sensible starting point and connect with other players.

Do I need a painted army?

No. There is no “grey shame” at MMG. You can arrange casual games with an unpainted army. Check the information for each organised event for any specific modelling or painting requirements.

Painting is also part of the community in its own right. Our seasonal hobby competition gives painters a way to take part beyond the gaming table.

Do you run tournaments and leagues?

Yes. MMG hosts organised play across several systems, from smaller-format games to full-size RTTs and leagues. The events collection lists what is currently open for booking.

Can I play Blood Bowl casually?

Yes. Players can arrange casual Blood Bowl games through the MMG Community Discord. We do not currently have organised Blood Bowl play scheduled, so check the events listing for any future announcements.

Do you sell Warhammer, paints and hobby supplies?

Yes. The venue has retail support for the games our community plays, and our online store is available around the clock. You can browse miniatures, paints, tools and Warhammer pre-orders online.

We do not stock everything Games Workshop sells, and Games Workshop Online Only products are not available through our special-order service. If you are making a special trip for a particular item, check the website or contact us first.

How do I get started?

If you already have an army, join Discord and tell the community what you would like to play. If you have an opponent, book a table. If you would rather meet us first, visit during a regular gaming evening. You can also browse upcoming events when you are ready for organised play.
