Getting started with Warhammer 40K
What is the difference between the Introductory Set and Starter Set?
The Introductory Set is a smaller way to try building, painting and introductory games, with paints and a brush included. The Starter Set gives you two complete Combat Patrol armies, terrain, game boards and gaming accessories. Paints and brushes are not included in the Starter Set.
Which Warhammer 40K starter sets include paints and a brush?
The Introductory Set, Space Marines Intercessors + Paints Set and Getting Started with Space Marines include paints and a brush. The larger Starter Set does not. Check each product page for its full contents before adding hobby supplies.
Do I need glue or hobby clippers?
Push-fit miniatures can be assembled without plastic glue. Other kits may require glue, and some sets need hobby clippers to remove parts from their frames. Check the assembly information for your chosen product before adding tools.
Is a Combat Patrol box everything I need to play?
A faction Combat Patrol box provides a force for Combat Patrol games, not a complete two-player gaming setup. You will also need an opponent, the appropriate rules, dice, measuring tools and a battlefield. Check each box for included hobby supplies; paints and tools may be separate.
