Event Format

• Teams of two players
• 1,000 points per player
• 2,000-point combined Team Army
• Three games across one day
• Played on 60" × 44" battlefields
• Matched Play battleplans from the current General’s Handbook 2026–27
• Army composition follows the current Advanced Rules
• Doubles rules are adapted from Games Workshop’s current Age of Sigmar Doubles Grand Tournament pack
• Maximum capacity: 10 teams / 20 players

Team Army Construction

Each player must bring a legal army of no more than 1,000 points. The two armies combine during each game to form one 2,000-point Team Army.

• Both armies must belong to the same Grand Alliance
• Both players may use the same faction
• The Team Army may contain a maximum of five regiments, which do not need to be divided evenly between the players
• Unique units may only be included once across the entire Team Army
• Each team selects two battle-tactic cards for its combined roster
• A team may select one universal Manifestation Lore for both players or up to two Faction Manifestation Lores
• If both players use the same faction, the Team Army may include only one faction terrain piece
• The same unit cannot use both its original warscroll and its Scourge of Aqshy variant within the Team Army
• One General must be nominated to lead the Team Army at the beginning of each game
• Command points are shared by the team
• Rules referring to an army or player apply to the team; restrictions such as “Once Per Army” become “Once Per Team”
• Friendly-unit abilities may select eligible units from either player’s 1,000-point army

Each player’s 1,000-point army must otherwise be legal and fully contained within their own army roster, using the latest battletomes, faction packs, Battle Profiles and official Warhammer Age of Sigmar rules.

Lists and Pairings

• Both players’ complete army rosters must be submitted through Best Coast Pairings (BCP) by 23:59 on Wednesday 18th November
• Each roster must clearly identify the player’s units, General, battle formation, enhancements and selected lores
• The same rosters must be used throughout the event
• Opening pairings and final event information will be posted to the MMG Community Discord on Friday 20th November

• Doors open and registration: 08:30
• Event briefing: 08:45
• Game 1: 09:00–12:00
• Lunch and army showcase: 12:00–13:00
• Game 2: 13:00–16:00
• Game 3: 16:15–19:15
• Prizegiving: 19:30

Scoring and Awards

Teams will be ranked using their game results, with major victories, minor victories, draws, minor losses and major losses recorded through BCP.

Awards will include:

• Best Team
• Best Painted Team Army
• Best Opponents

Player Requirements

• Both players must bring their army, dice, tape measure and all relevant rules publications
• All miniatures must be fully assembled, appropriately based and painted to a Battle Ready standard
• Models must accurately represent the units and equipment recorded on the submitted roster
• If using digital rules, devices must remain charged and accessible throughout the day
• Chess clocks are encouraged but are not supplied; please bring your own if you wish to use one

MMG Age of Sigmar Doubles combines competitive matched play with the social experience of fighting alongside a teammate. Build two complementary 1,000-point armies, share your command resources and take on three opposing teams across a full day of Age of Sigmar.
