MMG Open Ladders run all year and are designed to add a light competitive edge for players who enjoy tracking results and climbing a table — without replacing casual games, intro games, or friendly play.

Ladders do not mean the end of our Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter Leagues. For popular systems, seasonal leagues will continue alongside ladders as structured, fixed-format events.

Think of ladders as the background rhythm of MMG gaming — always there if you want them, easy to ignore if you don’t.

How MMG Ladders Work

• Ladders are free and always on
• Join or leave at any point during the year
• No fixed rounds, no deadlines, no pressure
• Players organise games themselves (Discord or in-venue)
• Results are logged via Rankade

To keep things friendly and community-focused:
👉 Maximum of one ladder game per system, per player, per week.

Ladders are not about smashing games in a race to the top — they’re about adding a bit of extra context and fun to games you were already going to play.

Spirit of the Ladder

• Play for the fun of it. Climbing is nice, but good games and good vibes come first.
• Be a good opponent. Clear intent, friendly pace, and no gotchas.
• Make space for newer players. Ladders should help people find games, not make the venue feel “hardcore”.
• Keep it tidy. Agree missions, clocks (if used), and expectations up front.

Where Games Are Played & Table Fees

Other than approved TTS ladders, games are expected to be played at MMG.

Ladders are free to join, but normal table booking and table fees still apply unless you hold a MIGHTY D6 or D6+ pass, in which case your usual benefits apply.

Short FAQ

Do I have to join at the start?
No. You can join or leave a ladder at any point during the year.

Do I have to play every week?
No. Ladders are play-when-you-like with no schedules.

How do I arrange games?
Players organise games themselves — usually via Discord or in person at the venue.

How do challenges work?
You can challenge up to two places above you on the ladder.
Win → positions swap
Draw → no movement

Is there a minimum number of games?
There’s no minimum to take part, though year-end recognition may require a small number of logged games.

What if I stop playing for a while?
Inactive players may be marked inactive after a long break, but you can jump straight back in by playing again.

Do ladders replace seasonal leagues?
No. Seasonal leagues (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) will continue for popular systems alongside ladders.

Does Blood Bowl use this system?
No. Blood Bowl continues on Tourplay as normal.

Armies, Lists & Missions

Can I change faction between games?
Yes. Each ladder game is standalone. As long as your list is legal, you’re good to go.

What missions do we play?

• Warhammer 40,000 – Any current UKTC mission in use (agree on the day)
• Spearhead – Fire & Jade or Sand & Bone
• Age of Sigmar – Any battleplan from the current General’s Handbook
• Other systems – If it’s legal, current, and official, crack on
