Defend the lands of Grand Cathay with the Defenders of the Great Bastion boxed set, a powerful new force for Warhammer: The Old World. When danger threatens the Celestial Empire, peasants, farm workers, and commonfolk rally to protect their homes and hold the legendary Great Bastion against horrors beyond imagining.

Though they are not as heavily armoured or as highly trained as the elite Jade Warriors, these determined defenders are far from helpless. Armed with long spears, warbows, and black powder weapons, they form a fierce battleline capable of standing firm against deadly enemies.

This boxed set is an excellent way to start a new Armies of Grand Cathay collection or expand an existing Grand Cathay army for games of Warhammer: The Old World. Magical support comes from two Astromancers – one on foot and one mounted on a Cathayan Warhorse – while ranks of Peasant Levy provide strength in numbers. Crane Gun Teams and Iron Hail Gunners add deadly ranged support, helping you control the battlefield from a distance.

This is also the first chance to get these new Grand Cathay miniatures, making this set a standout choice for collectors and players alike.

Customisation options

• Both Astromancers include a choice of two heads and two weapon options for their right hands.
• Each Peasant Levy miniature can be armed with either a warbow or a long spear.
• Build up to three optional champions, three musicians, and three standard bearers.
• Includes 72 interchangeable heads, featuring both bare heads and hatted options.
• Heads, hats, quivers, and weapons are interchangeable across the Peasant Soldier bodies for extra flexibility.
