MMG Spirit of Play
Battle. Bond. Belong.
At Mighty Melee Games we're building the kind of community we'd all want to play in. Great games start with great opponents.
Whether you're here for a casual game, a league or a tournament, these are the standards we expect from everyone.
Play the Right Way
Play Fair
- Play by the rules.
- Be honest.
- If you make a mistake, own it.
- If something isn't clear, ask.
Clean Play
- Declare your intentions.
- Explain unusual rules or interactions.
- Keep measurements and dice rolls clear.
- Avoid "gotcha" moments.
If your opponent knows what you're trying to achieve, everyone has a better game. We're here to test each other's decisions, not catch each other out.
Use Public Information Responsibly
- Public information may be checked, but do so openly and without unnecessarily interrupting the game.
- Do not pick up or handle an opponent's cards, models or gaming materials without permission.
- If you need to review visible cards, scores or other public information, ask your opponent and keep the interaction brief.
Competitive play should test the decisions made on the table. Avoid “gotcha” moments, and do not turn technically permitted information checks into repeated interruptions or forensic exercises that make the game unnecessarily adversarial.
Respect Your Opponent
- Win with humility.
- Lose with good humour.
- Keep games friendly, even when they're competitive.
- A handshake, fist bump or "good game" should be the last thing that happens at every table.
Respect the Clock
Play at a steady pace.
Chess clocks are encouraged at MMG for both practice and events. They help both players enjoy a fair game and keep everyone honest with their time.
Rules Questions
Nobody knows every rule – and that's OK.
If you disagree, pause the game, check the rules and, if needed, ask a TO, referee or experienced neutral player.
Once a ruling has been made, accept it and carry on. If we've got something wrong, we'll review it after the event.
At Events
Please:
- Read the event pack.
- Know your army and bring everything you need to play.
- Bring your army or team list.
- Arrive on time.
- Treat your opponents, TOs and volunteers with respect.
- Help us keep the event running smoothly.
We encourage players to play games to their natural conclusion wherever possible. Illness, emergencies and genuine real-life issues happen, but conceding simply because a game isn't going your way isn't in the spirit of organised play.
Respect the Venue
This is your gaming venue.
- Return terrain and gaming aids to the correct table or crate.
- Leave your table tidy.
- Respect neighbouring businesses and parking.
- Help us look after the venue so everyone can enjoy it.
Remember what it was like to be new. Offer help, answer questions and make people feel welcome.
Zero Tolerance
There is no place at MMG for:
- Cheating.
- Harassment or discrimination.
- Bullying or intimidation.
- Deliberate deception.
- Aggressive or abusive behaviour.
If something isn't right, speak to a member of staff or an event organiser. We'll deal with it fairly and appropriately.
One Community
Many of us play against the same people every month, and that's exactly how we like it.
Be the opponent people hope to play again.
Battle hard. Play fair. Be Mighty.
