New Codex: Space Marines for Warhammer 40,000

New Space Marines Codex, Miniatures and Black Library Pre-orders

A major wave of new Space Marines releases is on the way, led by a new Codex, updated infantry kits, returning vehicles and fresh Black Library fiction.

The range includes new versions of several familiar Space Marines units, the return of the Land Speeder and Rhino, and Kaius Konorius joining the Ultramarines as a standalone character.

Everything goes live for pre-order at 10am on Saturday 19 September 2026, ahead of release on Saturday 3 October 2026.

Codex: Space Marines

The centrepiece of the release is the new Codex: Space Marines.

This substantial 232-page English-language book contains updated datasheets, army rules, background material, collecting guides and hobby inspiration. It also includes a detailed look inside a Space Marine fortress monastery.

The standard edition is a softback book supplied in a display slipcase.

Space Marines Command Pack and Dice

The new Space Marines Command Pack provides a practical tabletop companion to the Codex.

It contains:

  • 94 reference cards covering every detachment in the Codex
  • Detachment rules, enhancements and Stratagems
  • 24 double-sided tokens
  • Markers for Combat Doctrines, special rules and secured objectives

Players can also pick up a set of Space Marines Dice. The set contains 16 silver-coloured dice with black pips and a stylised Crux Terminatus replacing the six.

The dice and Command Pack are available while stocks last.

New Space Marines Miniatures

Kaius Konorius

Kaius Konorius is an Ultramarines veteran and expert blademaster who now serves as the Chapter Master’s personal champion.

On the battlefield, he is capable of cutting through enemy Characters and massed infantry while helping to protect the Leader of the unit he joins from Precision attacks.

Captain on Bike

Lead a rapid assault with the new Space Marines Captain on Bike.

The Captain can be equipped with a master-crafted power weapon, thunder hammer or plasma pistol. The kit also includes five head options and allows the bike to be posed either racing forwards or resting with the rider’s foot down.

Outrider Squad

The updated Outrider Squad contains three fast-moving Space Marines mounted on powerful bikes.

The Sergeant can carry a power sword or thunder hammer, while ten head choices and additional pouches and accessories provide plenty of scope for personalisation.

Vanguard Veteran Squad with Jump Packs

The new Vanguard Veteran Squad with Jump Packs contains five highly customisable airborne warriors.

The kit includes combat shields for every model, together with power swords and power axes representing their master-crafted power weapons. The Sergeant can instead be equipped with a relic blade, power fist or thunder hammer.

Intercessor Squad

The classic Space Marines battleline unit receives a refreshed kit with the new Intercessor Squad.

The kit includes 13 helmets drawn from three different armour marks. A power sword, power fist and traditional back banner are also included for the Sergeant.

Standalone Armageddon Units

Several units originally included in the Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon boxed set are now receiving standalone releases.

Eradicators with Heavy Bolters

The Eradicator Squad with Heavy Bolters contains three push-fit Space Marines equipped to deliver sustained heavy fire.

These miniatures were originally included alongside the Chaplain with Jump Pack and Ancient in the Champions of Armageddon set.

Land Speeder

The venerable Space Marines Land Speeder returns with a new kit.

This fast anti-grav vehicle can be armed with either an onslaught gatling cannon for sustained fire or a pyrecannon for close-range attacks.

Rhino

The dependable Space Marines Rhino also receives its standalone release.

This classic armoured transport provides Space Marines infantry with protected battlefield mobility and fits naturally into a mechanised Adeptus Astartes army.

New Black Library Releases

Dawn of Fire: Crusade of Vengeance

Dawn of Fire: Crusade of Vengeance collects the first three novels in the Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of Fire series.

The omnibus contains:

  • Avenging Son by Guy Haley
  • The Gate of Bones by Andy Clark
  • The Wolftime by Gav Thorpe

Together, the novels follow the forces of the Imperium as the Indomitus Crusade carries the God-Emperor’s vengeance across the galaxy.

Helbrecht: Sin of Hope

High Marshal Helbrecht returns in Helbrecht: Sin of Hope, a new Black Templars novel by Mike Vincent.

The firebrand Chapter Master continues his crusade against the Ruinous Powers, driven onwards by a glimpse of a future in which the Imperium has been renewed. This edition is the standard hardback.

Master of Rites

Master of Rites by Rob Young returns in a new paperback edition.

The Khorsari Reach has been held by the Death Guard for more than a decade. Ultramarines Captain Ferren Areios has sworn to reclaim its worlds and avenge those slain by the servants of Nurgle—but the campaign may push him to the limits of his Chapter’s creed.

The Sundering

The Sundering is a paperback omnibus chronicling the civil war that divided the elves of Ulthuan.

The collection by Gav Thorpe includes Malerion, Shadow King and Caledor, alongside the novella The Bloody-Handed and the short story The Dark Path.
