Mighty Melee Games in 2027 – More Ways to Play
We're always planning ahead at Mighty Melee Games, and next year's gaming calendar is shaping up to be our biggest and most varied yet.
Our aim is simple: more opportunities to play, more ways to get involved, and space for both organised events and regular casual gaming.
We'll continue with the established tournaments and leagues that have built our community, while expanding our smaller Saturday events and leaving room in the calendar to try something new when there's demand for it.
⚔️ Warhammer 40,000 in 2027
Our monthly Warhammer 40,000 RTTs remain at the heart of the MMG tournament calendar, with 2,000pt events running throughout the year outside our summer break.
Alongside the regular RTTs, we're planning three larger 40K events during 2027:
- 🏆 MMG 40K GT – our two-day Grand Tournament
- 🤝 MMG 40K Doubles – team up with a partner for a full day of doubles
- ⚔️ MMG 40K Teams – team-based competitive 40K
And at the end of August, 40K Apocalypse returns for a full weekend of enormous armies and suitably ridiculous battles.
💥 Combat Patrol Joins the Saturday Programme
Combat Patrol is becoming a bigger part of organised 40K at Mighty Melee.
We're planning six Combat Patrol one-day events during 2027, joining Age of Sigmar Spearhead and The Old World Battle March in our Saturday programme.
These will be smaller events capped at 10 players, giving us fast, accessible tournament days without taking over the whole venue.
🎲 Saturdays at Mighty Melee
One of the biggest changes for 2027 is how we'll use Saturdays.
We'll be open from 10am–4pm, with up to five tables available for our smaller organised-play events:
- Warhammer 40,000 Combat Patrol
- Warhammer Age of Sigmar Spearhead
- Warhammer: The Old World Battle March
With these events capped at 10 players, we'll still have five gaming tables available for casual games and hobby.
So even when there's an event running, Saturday doesn't become tournament-only. Come down for a game, arrange something with friends, get some painting done or just spend a few hours at the venue.
🎲 Regular Weeknight Gaming
Organised events are only part of what happens at Mighty Melee.
Our regular gaming sessions will continue throughout 2027, with the venue open for gaming from 6pm–11pm every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
These sessions are open for casual games, league matches, practice games and whatever you and your opponent fancy playing. Book a table, arrange a game through the community, and come down and play.
Combined with our new Saturday opening, that means there'll be five days each week to get games in at MMG, even when you don't want to enter an organised event.
🏰 Age of Sigmar & The Old World
Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer: The Old World both continue as important parts of the MMG calendar.
Age of Sigmar will have regular 2,000pt RTTs alongside our Saturday Spearhead events.
The Old World will continue with full-size 2,000pt RTTs and our smaller 750pt Battle March events, giving players two very different ways to get their armies onto the table.
🏈 Blood Bowl & Bolt Action
Blood Bowl remains firmly on the calendar, with quarterly one-day tournaments planned across the year.
Bolt Action will also return for dedicated one-day events during 2027.
📅 More Leagues in 2027
Our league programme is expanding too.
We'll continue using our quarterly league seasons – Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn – giving players regular opportunities to get games in without committing to a full tournament day.
The planned programme includes:
- 40K Singles League
- 40K Doubles League
- 40K Combat Patrol League
- Age of Sigmar Spearhead League
- The Old World Battle March League
- Blood Bowl League
League games are arranged between players across each round, making them a flexible way to play regularly and meet more of the MMG community.
☀️ A Summer Break
We're also deliberately not filling every weekend of the year.
There will be no scheduled MMG tournaments during July or most of August. It's traditionally a quieter period, people are away, and we'd rather concentrate our organised-play programme into the parts of the year when people actually want to be playing.
We'll then return in suitably excessive fashion with the MMG 40K Apocalypse weekend on 28–29 August.
🚀 And There's Still Room for Something New
Even with all of this, we're intentionally leaving some space in the calendar.
If a game develops a community at MMG, we'd much rather have the flexibility to support it than fill every available weekend twelve months in advance.
That could mean one-off events for games such as Trench Crusade, StarCraft or something we haven't even considered yet.
If there's a system you'd like to see an event for, play it at MMG, find some opponents and let us know there's demand. If we can see a community developing around it, we'll look at what we can do.
⚔️ Battle. Bond. Belong.
2027 isn't simply about running more tournaments.
We want Mighty Melee to offer different ways to be part of the hobby – from your first Combat Patrol or Spearhead event, through regular league games and monthly RTTs, all the way to GTs, Teams and Apocalypse weekends.
And alongside all of that, there'll still be space to come down, roll some dice, paint some models and enjoy being part of the community.
📅 2027 Events & Tickets
We've already started putting the 2027 calendar together, and individual event listings, tickets and Best Coast Pairings (BCP) registrations will be rolling out throughout August and September.
There's a lot to get live, so don't worry if your event isn't bookable just yet.
Keep checking our MMG Events Calendar for the latest dates, tickets and event information as they're added.
We'll also share updates through our Discord and other community channels as events go live.
2027 is going to be a big year for gaming at Mighty Melee. See you across the table.
