Welcome to our Age of Sigmar Winter 1K League – a relaxed, structured, beginner-friendly way to play matched games, meet fellow players, and enjoy regular AoS over 10 weeks of dice-fuelled glory.

This league is designed to be welcoming to new and returning players, while still giving experienced generals a solid, meaningful set of games. Expect fun, fair matchups with a light narrative flavour — not hyper-optimised, win-at-all-costs list building.

We’ll be using the current army building rules and battlepack from the latest General’s Handbook. Games will be played on full-size 60" × 44" battlefields.

🎲 Battleplans

Five battleplans have been randomly selected from the current General’s Handbook. Each round we’ll progress through a new scenario from GHB 25/26 keeping games fresh and varied:

• Round 1 – Creeping Corruption
• Round 2 – Bountiful Equinox
• Round 3 – Cyclic Shifts
• Round 4 – Passing Seasons
• Round 5 – Lifecycle

💡 House Rules & Format

Nothing funky — all regular Age of Sigmar rules apply as published in the Core Rulebook, the current General’s Handbook, plus official FAQs and Errata.

We also expect players to embody the MMG Spirit of Play throughout the league. This isn’t about catching people out — it’s about good games and good opponents.

Army Construction

• 1,000 points maximum
• Single faction only
• No allies
• Coalition units permitted only where they are a core faction rule

Balance Restrictions

• No single unit may exceed 250 points (except Sons of Behemet who can have ONE big lad <500pts)
• Maximum 2 Heroes
• Maximum 2 Monsters (models that are both count toward both limits)
• Named / Unique units are not permitted
• Maximum 1 reinforced unit per army

These limits are in place to prevent overly dominant centrepiece units and to keep games approachable for newer players.

Any list questions can be checked with the MMG team before lists are due.

🧱 Battlefield & Terrain

• Games are played on full-size 60" × 44" boards
• Each mission in the GHB comes with its own map showing where terrain should ideally be placed - ideally use these. 

🧱 League Structure

• 5 matches over 10 weeks
• 2 weeks per round to schedule and play your game
• Pairings and standings managed via Best Coast Pairings (BCP)
