Want a chilled, structured way to play Warhammer: The Old World without committing to huge armies or marathon games? This 500 point league keeps things friendly, balanced, and easy to pick up — perfect for learning the ropes, trying new units, and getting great games in regularly.

League Structure

• 5 rounds played over 10 weeks
• Two-week cadence: one game every two weeks (flexible scheduling)
• All games played at 500 points using the official Battle March rules
• Friendly league environment — learning and enjoyment encouraged

Battle March Format (500pts)

• Battlefield size: 30" × 44"
• Game length: 5 rounds

Army List Building (Battle March)

Armies are built using the Battle March rules from Warhammer: The Old World. These constraints keep games tight, fair, and beginner-friendly.

Must include

• At least 2 units (note: Swarms do not count towards this minimum)
• At least 1 Character

Character limit

• Characters may make up no more than 25% of your army’s points

Unit limits (per single unit)

• Max 35% of points in any single Core unit
• Max 30% of points in any single Special unit
• Max 25% of points in any single Rare or Mercenary unit

0–X per 1,000 points options

• You may include one such option even at 500pts (a nice way to bring one “cool pick” without things getting wild)

Objectives & Deployment

• Games use Battle March objectives and deployment maps
• Expect a mix of Pitched Battle, Close Encounter, and Opposed Flanks
• Simple, clear missions — no complicated packs

The Vibe

This is a chilled league with a bit of structure: great for learning, list experimentation, and steady hobby momentum. If you want help building a legal 500pt list, just shout — we’ll happily lend a hand.

Rules queries will be handled with a “play on” attitude where possible — this is about enjoying the Old World, not catching people out.
