South Cheshire Heresy….? Who are they?

👋 Welcome to Our First Community Blog!

We’re thrilled to welcome our first community guest post, penned by Morgan D from the brilliant South Cheshire Heresy team. These legends are building something seriously special in the world of narrative Horus Heresy events, and we’re chuffed to share a bit of their story.

South Cheshire Heresy – Narrative Weekenders with Shenanigans Guaranteed

Our two-day events follow a strong narrative, where actions during previous events shape the future of the campaign. Tables at the event all interact with each other, causing lots of shenanigans!

But don’t worry—you don’t have to have played in any of the previous campaign weekends to take part. The more the merrier!

Zone Mortalis tables are also featured at the events, and the battles fought on them tend to have a direct impact on the other games. Fighting over orbital defence platforms or starship launch bays to control their impressive arsenals (and fire on a neighbouring table) adds a dangerous—or sometimes hilarious—element to the events!

To us, an event wouldn’t be a proper event without a host of prizes and awards. Mighty Melee are our supplier of choice, and Phil & the team have been absolutely fantastic in supporting us with various prizes.

We always have awards for:

  • Best Painted Army
  • Best Painted Single Miniature (sometimes focused on a specific unit type)
  • The Oath of Moment Award – for the biggest in-game success story (who doesn’t love it when a lowly tech-thrall kills off a legion Praetor?!)
  • Overall Victor
  • The 'Leroy Jenkins' Award – given to the player with the biggest in-game fail. These stories are legendary, and many a wooden spoon* hangs in cherished splendour atop many a mantelpiece.

🔚 That’s a Wrap – But Let’s Keep the Hobby Chat Going

We hope you enjoyed that peek behind the curtain of South Cheshire Heresy’s narrative weekenders!

Got a club, society, or hobby topic you’re passionate about? We’d love to hear from you—drop us a message if you’d like to contribute a future community blog.

Our very own head heretek, George, loved the last SCH event and is itching to bring his Iron Warriors back for more. We can’t wait to see Morgan and the SCH crew at Mighty Melee Games soon as we welcome in the new edition of Horus Heresy in suitably dramatic style.
